About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and equipment repairs safely and effectively to minimize downtime. The fleet varies by location and primarily includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty-lines locations may also have large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas-related equipment. The role offers work across a variety of makes, models, and equipment, with opportunities to build skills for a career track in service or operations management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- May need to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade.
- Bilingual ability in Spanish or another language may be required depending on location needs.
- Ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, lift 50 pounds or more, and work indoors or outdoors as required.
Nice To Haves
- Some trade school or equivalent training.
- Three to five years of mechanic experience with similar diesel or heavy equipment, or specialty-lines equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment.
