About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a mechanic to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on rental equipment in a safe and effective manner to minimize downtime. The fleet varies by location and primarily includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty locations may also maintain large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas equipment. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of equipment and makes, develop skills for service or operations management, and work with a team in a safety-focused environment. The role may require providing mechanic’s tools of the trade. The physical demands include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required. The stated hourly wage is $29.88–$31.88, depending on the rate agreed under the collective bargaining agreement for the location.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• May be required to speak Spanish or another language, depending on location needs.

Nice To Haves

• Some trade school or equivalent training.
• One to three years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty lines equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment.
