Uniform Room Attendant-$17.00 per hour
About The Position
Hotel Emma is seeking passionate, service-driven candidates for the Uniform Room Attendant position. The role is responsible for altering and repairing uniforms, issuing and controlling uniforms and other items related to the Housekeeping department, and pressing guest clothes and uniforms as needed. The attendant also picks up and delivers guest garments sent to the dry cleaners and handles guest shoeshine requests. The position maintains uniform inventory and related records, inspects clean uniforms and returned dry-cleaned garments, processes guest clothing for pressing or dry cleaning, and repairs uniforms and other hotel items such as drapes, sheers, bed dust ruffles, and linens. The attendant secures the Uniform Room and its storage area and submits paperwork to the Front Desk and Accounting.
Requirements
- Effective communication with guests and co-workers.
- Ability to present and conduct oneself professionally and emulate the Hotel Emma culture.
- Twelve months of related experience.
- Flexible schedule, including AM/PM shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to sit, stand, push, stretch, bend, and kneel for prolonged periods without restrictions.
Responsibilities
- Tag uniforms.
- Alter and repair uniforms according to guidelines, by hand and/or using a sewing machine.
- Issue and control uniform inventory and maintain records of uniforms disbursed and returned.
- Inspect all clean uniforms.
- Count uniforms to be sent to the dry cleaners and monitor uniform inventory.
- Press guest clothing and uniforms as needed; pick up garments from guest rooms and deliver them after pressing.
- Repair guest clothing when possible.
- Pick up guest clothing for dry cleaning, inventory it, send it to the dry cleaners, inspect it upon return, and deliver it to the guest room.
- Handle guest shoeshine requests.
- Submit paperwork to the Front Desk and Accounting for processing.
- Repair drapes, sheers, bed dust ruffles, and other linens.
- Secure the Uniform Room and its storage area.
