About The Position

The All Stars Project is seeking a motivated student for an Underwriting Intern position in Chicago. This internship offers a unique opportunity to develop personal skills in a corporate setting, with a focus on business, sales, analytics, and problem-solving. Interns will gain access to a Fortune 500 environment, develop relevant skills and core competencies, and work under an experienced Underwriter to gain insights into the commercial insurance industry. The program includes an Intern Orientation, exposure to various aspects of the company and industry, meaningful assignments, and structured support from a supervisor and mentors.

Responsibilities

  • Engaging in the fast-paced day-to-day operations of a Hartford Underwriter
  • Active participation in shadowing and mentoring sessions, meetings, special projects, and self-directed learning modules
  • Gathering weekly data and analyzing it against metrics such as monthly budget or sales goals
  • Writing emails to communicate results of analytics or the status of special projects
  • Engaging in internal or external meetings by preparing, asking questions and taking notes
  • Creating a Capstone Project to be presented to a large group, including senior and executive leaders at The Hartford
