About The Position

The All Stars Project is seeking a motivated student for an Underwriting Intern position in NYC. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in a Fortune 500 corporate environment, focusing on business, sales, analytics, and problem-solving within the commercial insurance industry. Interns will work closely with experienced professionals, develop key skills, and contribute to meaningful projects. The program includes structured support, training, and exposure to various aspects of the insurance business.

  • Familiarity with business applications including Microsoft365.
  • Prior engagement in school clubs or extracurricular activities as community volunteer, with leadership roles preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in the fast-paced day-to-day operations of a Hartford Underwriter.
  • Actively participate in mentoring sessions, meetings, special projects, and self-directed learning modules by preparing, asking questions, and taking notes.
  • Create a Capstone Project to be presented to a large group, including senior and executive leaders at The Hartford.
  • Gather weekly data and analyze it against metrics such as monthly budget or sales goals.
  • Write emails to communicate results of analytics or the status of special projects.

Benefits

  • Compensation: $17 - $18 per hour
