About The Position

The All Stars Project is seeking a motivated student for an Underwriting Intern position in Chicago. This internship offers a unique opportunity to develop personal skills in a corporate setting within a Fortune 500 insurance company. Interns will gain key insights into the commercial insurance industry, working alongside experienced professionals and contributing to meaningful assignments. The program emphasizes a supportive and structured learning environment, including an orientation program, training, and exposure to various aspects of the business.

  • Must satisfy employment eligibility requirements as established by the State of Illinois and The Hartford, including required background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in the fast-paced day-to-day operations of a Hartford Underwriter.
  • Actively participate in shadowing and mentoring sessions, meetings, special projects, and self-directed learning modules.
  • Gather weekly data and analyze it against metrics such as monthly budget or sales goals.
  • Write emails to communicate results of analytics or the status of special projects.
  • Engage in internal or external meetings by preparing, asking questions, and taking notes.
  • Create a Capstone Project to be presented to a large group, including senior and executive leaders at The Hartford.

Benefits

  • Compensation: $17 - $18 per hour
