About The Position

MSIG USA is seeking an Underwriting Intern for its Financial Lines team. The internship offers hands-on experience with insurance underwriting, including evaluating risks, assisting with policy terms, and learning how financial insights inform underwriting strategies. The intern will receive guidance from experienced underwriters and collaborate with claims, legal, and finance teams. The program runs from June 7, 2026 to August 13, 2027, with a three-day induction in Warren, New Jersey, from June 7 to June 9, 2027. The hybrid schedule requires at least four days in the office per week. Compensation is $25.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an interest in understanding financial data.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Eagerness to learn and tackle challenges.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluating financial statements, credit reports, and industry trends to assess prospective clients’ risk profiles.
• Support underwriting for new and renewal Financial Lines business, including helping determine coverage terms and conditions.
• Analyze reports and industry data to understand how financial insights influence underwriting strategies.
• Collaborate with claims, legal, and finance teams to learn about underwriting challenges and solutions.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and develop knowledge for a career in underwriting.
