About The Position

MSIG USA is seeking an Underwriting Intern to gain hands-on experience in Financial Lines underwriting. The intern will receive guidance from industry experts and exposure to evaluating risk, crafting policies, and making underwriting decisions. The role offers real-world experience, mentorship, and opportunities to contribute to projects that inform the business. The program runs from June 7, 2027, through August 13, 2027, with a three-day induction in Warren, New Jersey, from June 7 to June 9. The schedule is hybrid, with a minimum of four days per week in the office. Compensation is $25.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an interest in understanding financial data.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Eagerness to learn and tackle challenges.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluating financial statements, credit reports, and industry trends to assess potential clients’ risk profiles.
• Support underwriting for new and renewal Financial Lines insurance business, including helping determine coverage terms and conditions.
• Analyze reports and industry data to understand how financial insights influence underwriting strategies.
• Work with claims, legal, and finance teams to understand underwriting challenges and solutions.
• Stay current with industry trends and build knowledge relevant to a career in underwriting.
