About The Position

D.R. Horton, Inc., the largest homebuilder in the U.S., is seeking an Underwriter Support Specialist for its title insurance subsidiary (DHITIC). This role involves working closely with the underwriting team and serving as a liaison for title insurance matters to various levels of company leadership. The specialist will manage claims, assist with risk analysis, conduct legal research, and communicate with agents. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year university or college
Ability to work in an unsupervised, but collaborative environment
Proficiency with MS Office, e-mail, and internet/legal research
Ability to work as a team alongside the DHITIC underwriting team
Proficiency with MS Office and email

Nice To Haves

Prior legal assistant and/or paralegal experience of 2 or more years preferred, but not required
Paralegal certification preferred, but not required
Title insurance claims experience preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

Respond in a timely manner to underwriting inquiries from agents
Participate in the title underwriting review process
Research title insurance laws nationwide
Administer and manage title insurance claims from commencement to conclusion
Research and update new laws/statute/regulations that could affect the risk of the company
Support agency with recruitment process and retention of agents
Participate on cross-functional teams
Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
Assist in preparing bulletins, alerts, and other agent communications
Participate in internal and external legal team discussions
Create and maintain reporting to support initiatives
