The candidate should have interest and/or experience in Cyber/Technology E&O underwriting. The position operates on a hybrid schedule, with in-office days at E-Risk Services in Rockaway, New Jersey. The role requires a critical thinker who can analyze complex risk, find insurance solutions balancing customer needs with business goals, take initiative, use analytical and creative abilities to make sound decisions, and help people solve real challenges. Under technical direction, the underwriter assesses a company's risk profile and determines/negotiates appropriate pricing, coverage, terms, and conditions by analyzing financial statements, operations, management, industry, viability, issues, governance, and regulatory environment. The underwriter achieves production and loss ratio goals within their assigned territory by reviewing and analyzing claims and loss history, taking appropriate action on individual accounts, and working independently to develop recommendations and apply judgment based on financial analysis. The role involves establishing and maintaining effective relationships with brokers to generate premium dollars profitably, with territory assignments being somewhat complex in nature concerning coverage and broker relationships. The underwriter may also assist with the research, development, and presentation of new programs, forms, and manuals.
