About The Position

The Underground Network & Communications Technician supports the network and communications systems essential to underground and surface mining operations. Reporting to the Underground Network and Communication Supervisor, the technician maintains, repairs, installs, and troubleshoots network and communications equipment and systems. The role also supports projects aligned with short- and long-term mine plans and works collaboratively with a focus on safety, communication, and efficiency.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of repairing, installing, and troubleshooting complex underground network and communications systems.
• A proven safety record and commitment to working within a team environment.
• Eagerness to learn and apply new skills for repairing and maintaining mining equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Formal education in networking and/or communications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair underground and surface network and communications equipment, including fiber optic networks, wireless systems, Cisco switches, radios, and radio controls.
• Install and troubleshoot complex underground network and communications systems.
• Assist in developing and executing projects that support short- and long-term mine plans.
• Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment with a focus on safety, communication, and efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
