About The Position

The Underground Fixed Maintenance Operator is responsible for the safe and productive operation of fixed plant equipment, including surface and/or underground equipment. The role involves examining work areas, inspecting equipment, conducting sampling, operating plants, carrying out troubleshooting and lockout/tagout procedures, and supporting preventative maintenance. The position requires working a rotating schedule of days and nights and performing in hot or cold weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct work area exams to identify substandard conditions that could endanger personnel, correct identified conditions where possible, and document any conditions not corrected by the end of the shift.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections to identify defects or conditions affecting safety, environmental compliance, property, or equipment reliability; mitigate defects and make basic repairs when trained and qualified.
• Conduct assigned detailed inspections of safety and plant equipment, document deficiencies, and generate work requests.
• Conduct sampling at designated intervals, process samples accurately, and document results according to procedure.
• Operate plants safely and efficiently to meet operational targets.
• Understand equipment fundamentals to execute LOTOTO and troubleshooting actions as required.
• Work with team members to complete preventative maintenance tasks effectively and efficiently.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
