About The Position

This experienced-level mining position is assigned to underground mining operations at Itmann Mine #5 in Itmann, West Virginia. The role provides direct support for the safe operation and maintenance of mining equipment, as well as general labor across underground operations. The miner is responsible for safe and efficient coal production or assistance with production, and must work safely and effectively in changing mine conditions, either independently or as part of a team.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to work as scheduled and arrive promptly at the worksite to receive an assignment and prepare for the shift.
• Must be able to work an entire shift rotation.
• Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as the schedule requires.
• Must be able to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independently.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Must possess effective critical-thinking and comprehension skills.
• Must understand and grasp mining concepts and safety strategies.
• Must possess a valid West Virginia Miner’s Certification or be able to obtain one.
• Must be able to work on or near moving equipment as required by the job.
• Must be able to perform heavy work, including lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling, climbing, shoveling, walking, prying, and other job-specific activities.
