About The Position

The Underground Miner is an experienced underground equipment operator responsible for extracting coal safely and efficiently using a variety of equipment and techniques. The role supports safe and efficient coal production or assistance with production in general work areas. It may also involve non-equipment tasks such as shoveling, building and maintaining ventilation controls, assisting with mine-equipment maintenance and repairs, and other manual duties as needed. The miner must respond safely and effectively to changing underground conditions and comply with company policies, federal and state laws, and regulatory standards. The position promotes Core Natural Resources' values of Safety, Sustainability, and Continuous Improvement, and its “Absolute ZERO” safety culture.

Requirements

• Valid West Virginia Underground Coal Miner Certification.
• At least 3 years of underground mining experience.
• Ability to safely operate at least two of the following underground mining machines: scoop, shuttle car, roof bolter, or continuous miner.
• Availability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as the schedule requires.
• Ability to work a 4-week shift rotation.
• Ability to work safely and effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to work on or near moving equipment as required by the job.
• Self-motivated, skilled, and dependable.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with a Fletcher DDR or HDDR roof bolter is preferred.
