Carnegie Mellon University's Neuroscience Institute (NI) within the Mellon College of Science is seeking an Undergraduate Research Assistant. The NI is an interdisciplinary research and education center focused on advancing brain understanding through neuroscience, AI, psychology, engineering, and computational science. It fosters collaboration among researchers, faculty, and students to study cognition, behavior, brain health, and neural technology, with the goal of translating discoveries into real-world applications and treatments. The Undergraduate Research Assistant will contribute to neurobiology experiments examining the effect of visual stimulation on rodent brains, learn to set up visual stimulation hardware, assist with Neural Spike Sorting analysis, and collaborate on designing and refining novel research paradigms.
