About The Position

This research project investigates how educators in the K-12 classical education movement understand and pursue character formation as a primary educational goal. The project employs qualitative inquiry and philosophical analysis. Research assistants will support the gathering and organization of data on character education from classical school websites and other online and print sources. This data collection will contribute to a book project on character formation in classical schools.

Responsibilities

• Identify up-to-date lists of classical schools in the United States.
• Compile basic information about each school, including name, leadership, website, location, type of school, and demographic information as available.
• Identify virtues emphasized or mentioned in online school materials, note any other language or information relevant to character education, and organize this data in an accessible format.
• Provide research briefs on the findings.
