About The Position

This position is for up to three part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Undergraduate Learning Assistant (ULA) positions for the School of Nuclear Science & Engineering (NSE) at Oregon State University (OSU). This position recruitment is for NSE 234, Fall 2026. This position performs a variety of duties in support of NSE course instruction. Responsibilities may include working with the instructor to assist with classroom and lab activities, holding office hours, and helping with grading. These duties will vary depending on the specific course requirements.

Requirements

Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
Required Undergraduate Engineering Major GPA greater than 3.25
Completion of course with a B or higher
Good communication skills
Students must complete FERPA training prior to starting position.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq.
Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 2 years.
OSU will conduct a review of the National Sex Offender Public website prior to hire.
