About The Position
The Undergraduate Assistant will support a computational research project investigating eco-evolutionary dynamics in microbial communities exposed to rapid environmental change. The student will be trained to work in a Unix/Linux computing environment and to execute parallel simulation workflows. The position will provide hands-on training in computational biology, evolutionary modeling, reproducible research practices, and data analysis.
Requirements
- Completion of BIOL 300C: Evolution, with demonstrated solid understanding of core evolutionary concepts and principles.
Responsibilities
- Running and monitoring computational simulations
- Organizing and managing simulation output
- Collecting and summarizing data
- Assisting with quantitative analyses of ecological and evolutionary outcomes across environmental scenarios
