Advanced Micro Devices, Inc•Austin, TX

About The Position

AMD is seeking a technical writer to join its Computing and Graphics team and develop, maintain, and modernize x86 software and hardware documentation while advancing structured content, automation, and publishing practices. The role involves creating and maintaining structured documentation for x86/APU architecture and system-level features using DITA XML and a component content management system (CCMS); migrating legacy FrameMaker and Word content into DITA XML while preserving metadata and documentation standards; and applying information architecture practices such as profiling attributes, conditional text, topic and map reuse, submaps, key-based variables, and conkeyref-based reuse. The co-op will work with Computing and Graphics engineering teams to validate technical accuracy, align documentation with design specifications, and resolve content gaps and inconsistencies. Other work includes HTML and multichannel publishing, supporting the Fluid Topics customer web portal, and improving documentation processes through automation, AI-assisted authoring, and content governance. The co-op is based in Austin, Texas, and lasts from January 25, 2027, through August 13, 2027. The student must work 40 hours per week in a hybrid or onsite structure. The role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
