About The Position

The Unarmed Uniformed Security Agent protects people and property from possible criminal activity and helps maintain safe, problem-free facilities. The role involves surveillance of premises, identifying suspicious behavior, preventing vandalism, theft, and other criminal behavior, and responding appropriately to incidents. The agent is expected to be trained in surveillance and dealing with perpetrators, and to demonstrate observation, authority, and respect.

Requirements

• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
• Authoritative verbal communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Security guard training certification required for the specific state.
• Able to perform duties requiring extended periods of physical activity, depending on the assigned post.
• Able to stand and remain alert for extended periods of up to 8–12 hours, sometimes in varying weather conditions.
• Able to sit for long durations while maintaining focus and awareness of surroundings.
• Able to patrol the property on foot and access areas quickly, including walking on uneven surfaces.
• Able to walk or climb stairs frequently, lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally, and respond quickly in emergency situations.
• Vision and hearing sufficient to observe and respond to incidents, including during nighttime or low-light conditions.
• Physically able to capture and detain individuals if necessary.
• Able to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and monitor surveillance equipment.
• Communicates respectfully with team members, vendors, and clients; models a positive attitude; listens actively and supports the team; asks questions and learns from mistakes; completes tasks accurately, promptly, and efficiently; and maintains consistent attendance meeting or exceeding company standards.

• Previous experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Patrol and monitor an assigned area, reporting suspicious activities to local authorities.
• Monitor surveillance cameras, inspect property, and monitor crowds.
• Contact law enforcement or the fire department in an emergency.
• After business hours, check doors, windows, and gates to ensure the property is secure.
• Investigate reports of suspicious activity on the property.
• Reasonably detain persons suspected of criminal activity until law enforcement arrives.
• Escort discharged staff, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
