About The Position

Oatridge Security Group (OSG) is seeking an Unarmed Security Officer to join its growing team. This role involves conducting patrols and providing static security at various sites. Officers may need to operate a vehicle, stand or walk for extended periods, and work outdoors in different weather conditions. Key responsibilities include challenging individuals to prevent unauthorized access and verbally trespassing violators. The position requires self-discipline, de-escalation skills, a strong work ethic, and punctuality. Candidates must pass a background check and drug test, and be well-groomed, articulate, dependable, and a team player. The Unarmed Security Officer does not have law enforcement powers.

Requirements

Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
TWIC CARD REQUIRED
18 years of age or older
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language fluently
Ability to follow written rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training material
Excellent customer service skills in phone and face to face conversation, with excellent written and spoken command of the English language
Pass an extensive background check and drug test.
Be well groomed, articulate, dependable, and a team player.

Nice To Haves

Prior military, civilian, or security officer experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Conduct patrols and static security at various sites.
Safely operate a vehicle (if required).
Stand or walk for long periods of time.
Work outdoors in the elements.
Challenge individuals to prevent unauthorized access.
Verbally trespass any violators.
Detect, deter, and report crime, fire, unusual events, and emergencies.
Follow all company personnel and safety policies, and perform all assigned duties in a safe manner.
Arrive at work at the designated time in proper uniform with any necessary equipment.
Carry out general and special orders for assigned post(s).
Communicate via radio, telephone, and in-person, according to orders.
Take responsibility for the cleanliness of uniforms and assigned equipment.
Meet, greet, and interact professionally with clients and the general public.
Maintain poise and self-control under stress.
Construct and write clear, concise, accurate, and detailed reports in English.
Turn away trespassers, loiterers, and transients (who might be under the influence of drugs or alcohol) on the clients' property from a safe distance away.
