About The Position

Colonial Security Services is hiring an Unarmed Security Officer in Jersey City, New Jersey. The officer will maintain a safe and secure environment for employees, customers, and company assets by enforcing policies and procedures, responding to emergencies, and patrolling facilities. The role may be full-time or part-time.

Requirements

• Current and valid New Jersey SORA Card.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to perform security duties, including standing, walking, and occasionally lifting or moving objects.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in security is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular on-foot and/or vehicle patrols of designated areas to deter unauthorized access, prevent incidents, and secure the premises.
• Use surveillance cameras and other monitoring equipment to observe activity, identify potential security threats, and take appropriate action.
• Enforce security policies and procedures, including access control, visitor management, and property protection protocols.
• Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, including medical emergencies, fires, and disturbances, and take appropriate action.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with employees, visitors, and customers.
• Document security-related activities, incidents, and observations in accurate and thorough written reports.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement agencies as needed to report incidents, provide assistance, and facilitate investigations.
