About The Position

Colonial Security Services is hiring an Unarmed Security Officer in Jersey City, New Jersey. The role is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, customers, and company assets. The officer will enforce company policies and procedures, respond to emergencies, and conduct patrols to secure facilities. The position may be full-time or part-time.

Requirements

• Current and valid New Jersey SORA Card.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to perform security duties, including standing, walking, and occasionally lifting or moving objects.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in security is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of designated areas on foot and/or by vehicle to deter unauthorized access, prevent incidents, and secure the premises.
• Use surveillance cameras and other monitoring equipment to observe activity, identify potential security threats, and take appropriate action.
• Enforce company security policies and procedures, including access control, visitor management, and property protection protocols.
• Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, including medical emergencies, fires, or disturbances, and take appropriate action.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with employees, visitors, and customers.
• Document security-related activities, incidents, and observations in accurate and thorough written reports.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement agencies as needed to report incidents, provide assistance, and facilitate investigations.
