About The Position

ACT Security Group is hiring an Unarmed Security Officer for a North Austin retail mall. The role involves protecting assigned buildings, parking lots, and property; monitoring access; observing and reporting suspicious activity; and responding to disturbances and emergencies according to training and company policy. The officer will also assist visitors, employees, and customers professionally and communicate security concerns to supervisors or emergency responders when necessary. The listed schedule is Friday through Tuesday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Duties include vehicle inspections, report writing, customer service, and de-escalation. The position requires meeting applicable Texas eligibility and licensing requirements for noncommissioned security officers.

Requirements

Be over 21 years old.
Have a valid driver's license.
Have no moving violations or tickets in the last three years on the motor vehicle report.
Meet applicable Texas eligibility and licensing requirements for the position; Level II training and registration requirements apply to noncommissioned security officers.
Have strong communication and customer-service skills.
Be able to follow instructions and complete written reports.
Have reliable attendance and professional conduct.
Successfully complete the employer's applicable background screening.
Be able to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
Be able to remain alert throughout the assigned shift.

Previous security experience is preferred but not required for all assignments.

Responsibilities

Patrol assigned buildings, parking lots, and property.
Monitor entrances and exits and verify visitor authorization.
Observe and report suspicious activity.
Enforce site rules and access-control procedures.

Prepare accurate daily activity logs and incident reports.
Assist visitors, employees, and customers professionally.
Communicate security concerns to supervisors and emergency responders when necessary.
