About The Position

Security Engineers is hiring an unarmed security officer for a Saturday and Sunday overnight assignment. The role involves patrolling and surveillance, responding to incidents, maintaining activity and incident logs, performing routine security tasks, assisting visitors and employees, and enforcing site procedures and client policies. Employment is contingent on satisfactory completion of a post-offer background investigation and drug screen. A criminal background check may be required by law for this safety-sensitive, licensed security operation.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Have, or obtain and maintain, a valid Tennessee Security Officer/Guard License when performing regulated activities in Tennessee.
Be available to work weekends, Saturday and Sunday.
Be able to perform in high-paced, potentially stressful environments.
Have strong situational awareness and curiosity.
Be able to remain calm, solve problems, and act effectively in critical situations.
Have basic computer skills and be able to use a tablet for reporting.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Meet the physical requirements: stand for at least one hour without support or a break; sit for at least one hour without a break; walk at least one-half mile without stopping; and climb at least 20 commercial facility stairs without stopping.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least two years of verifiable customer service experience.
Tennessee Unarmed Security License.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular walking patrols to enhance safety and identify and report concerns.
Monitor facility access points and verify IDs and credentials.
Monitor surveillance feeds for signs of threats or breaches.
Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents using established protocols.
Maintain accurate logs of activities, incidents, and observations.
Lock and unlock doors and manage security systems.
Assist visitors and employees and address concerns professionally.
Enforce security procedures according to Security Post Instructions.
Ensure compliance with Security Engineers and client policies, including smoking, loitering, and parking policies.
