About The Position

The Unarmed Security Officer observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned corporate building, helping protect client property and personnel. The officer conducts periodic patrols to check for irregularities, preserves order, and may enforce site rules and directives for personnel, visitors, and premises. The work requires standing for most of the workday. Available schedules are 8 a.m.–4 p.m., 4 p.m.–12 a.m., and 12 a.m.–8 a.m. Starting pay is $25.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Must be available to work weekends.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Ability to verbally de-escalate situations.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Report irregularities and inform violators of policies and procedures.
• Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points, and permitting entry.
• Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interview witnesses; and obtain signatures.
• Perform tasks assigned by a supervisor or manager.
