This position requires the possession of an active Unarmed SLED license, along with having the physical card. The role involves patrolling grounds, buildings, and parking lots, maintaining security booths and vehicles, and securing buildings while monitoring security systems. The guard will report incidents to local authorities as needed, drive a patrol car or golf cart to monitor activity and assist on-site, and log personnel entering and leaving the worksite. Regular review of the emergency plan is necessary to ensure compliance with state, local, and federal laws. The guard will report any unusual incidents or hazardous conditions and provide a report. This role aids in preventing vandalism, theft, malicious mischief, trespass, active shooter situations, or misuse of facilities equipment. A working knowledge of South Carolina laws of search and seizure, contraband, and weapons violations is required. Other related duties may be assigned.
