Ultrasound Technologist - General Ultrasound - Part Time
About The Position
Join the Radiology team at NewYork-Presbyterian / Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, providing high-quality, compassionate care in a collaborative, community-oriented environment. The registered Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasound examinations and welcomes patients, visitors, and staff. The role includes assessing patient condition, selecting the appropriate transducer, adjusting equipment for diagnostic testing, and ensuring adherence to safety standards. The position supports effective operations and patient care services across key departments. This part-time General Ultrasound position covers the Center for Community Health (CCH) and Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. The schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Mondays and Fridays. The role requires on-site presence, and employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. NYP does not reimburse travel expenses.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate from an accredited ultrasound technology program.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer credential from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
- BCLS certification from the AHA.
- Demonstrated patient-care experience and training in ultrasound.
- If working in the Diagnostic Imaging Center, at least 3 years of direct post-training ultrasound experience in General Sonography (e.g., abdominal, pelvic, and small parts) and Doppler interrogation experience (e.g., upper abdomen and female and male reproductive systems).
