About The Position
Join the Radiology team at NewYork-Presbyterian / Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients. The registered Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasound examinations and welcomes patients, visitors, and staff. The role includes assessing patient condition, selecting the proper transducer, adjusting equipment to meet diagnostic testing needs, and ensuring adherence to safety standards. The position supports effective operations and patient care services in key departments. This part-time role provides general ultrasound services at NYP/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Employees must live within a commutable distance to NYP; travel expenses are not reimbursed. The role requires on-site presence.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate from an accredited ultrasound technology program.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer credential from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
- BCLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Demonstrated patient-care experience with training in ultrasound.
- For work in the Diagnostic Imaging Center: at least 3 years of direct post-training ultrasound experience in General Sonography (such as abdominal, pelvic, and small-part studies) and Doppler interrogation experience (such as upper abdomen and female and male reproductive systems).
Responsibilities
