About The Position
Join the Radiology team at NewYork-Presbyterian / Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where the team is dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate patient care. The role offers collaboration with colleagues and a focus on improving patient care. The registered Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasound examinations, welcomes patients, visitors, and staff, and assists with examinations as needed. The technologist assesses patient condition, selects the appropriate transducer, adjusts equipment to support diagnostic testing, and ensures adherence to safety standards. The position supports the continued effective operation of key departments and patient care services. It provides overnight general ultrasound services at NYP/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduation from an accredited ultrasound technology program.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer credential from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
- BCLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Demonstrated patient-care experience with training in ultrasound.
- For work in the Diagnostic Imaging Center: at least 3 years of direct post-training ultrasound experience in General Sonography, including abdominal, pelvic, or small-parts sonography, and Doppler interrogation experience, such as upper abdomen and female and male reproductive systems.
