Ultrasound Technologist – Per Diem
About The Position
The Ultrasound Technologist performs high-quality ultrasound imaging and assists with the daily routines of the ultrasound department. The role assists registered nurses and physicians with interventional procedures and coordinates and evaluates the daily schedule. The technologist must follow the professional and ethical standards of the American Association of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. The position is with Clifton Fine Hospital’s Imaging Services department at Star Lake Hospital. Clifton Fine Hospital is a Rural Emergency Hospital with a Primary Care Clinic and other outpatient services. The role is per diem, with variable 8-hour shifts, and provides a pay range of $30.00–$35.00.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited U.S. program.
- Registered with ARDMS or registry eligible.
- Current BLS certification.
- Fluent in scanning a variety of ultrasound exams, including OB/GYN, breast, venous, arterial, abdomen, pelvis, soft tissue, transvaginal, and interventional procedures.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and independently.
- Able to lift 1–50 pounds, as stated in the posting.
- At least 1 year of ultrasound experience across a variety of exams, including OB, venous, arterial, abdomen, breast, and interventional procedures; clinical experience obtained during ultrasound training may count.
- Customer-service orientation and ability to work with all facets of healthcare providers.

Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound examinations and provide direct patient care.
- Assist registered nurses and physicians with interventional procedures.
- Assist with the daily routines of the ultrasound department.
- Coordinate and evaluate the daily schedule.
- Maintain departmental equipment according to original equipment manufacturer guidelines and report equipment failures or concerns to the departmental Manager.
- Follow infection-control policies and procedures, including universal precautions and isolation procedures when required, and report issues to the departmental Manager.
- Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.
- Complete required annual training and competencies.
- Maintain professional development by participating in continuing education requirements.
- Comply with the professional and ethical standards of the American Association of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
