About The Position

Perform ultrasound examinations as ordered by referring physicians and report preliminary findings to Radiologists. This per-diem position has varying shifts and is based at the Mt Laurel Center. The role includes direct patient contact in an indoor office setting and may require travel to SJRA offices. The position involves standing and scanning patients for 80–85% of the shift, repetitive transducer use, and potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood, and other body fluids.

Requirements

RDMS certification in Abdomen and/or OB/GYN.
Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
Proficient computer skills.
Knowledge of infection control practices.
Knowledge of pathology.
Knowledge of image interpretation.
Knowledge of high-level disinfectant procedures.
Ability to perform duties involving sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, stooping, twisting, and assisting patients on and off examination tables.

Nice To Haves

RVT certification.
Two years of experience as an ultrasound technologist.

Responsibilities

Review patient information, referring physician details, and referral or script for accuracy before examinations.
Explain examination procedures to patients and answer their questions.
Perform high-quality ultrasound studies as ordered by referring physicians.
Review images with Radiologists when necessary.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and Corporate Compliance regulations.
Provide accurate written technical interpretation to Radiologists.
Maintain examination rooms, including stocking supplies as needed.
Maintain the work area and equipment quality-control checklist.
Travel to SJRA offices as necessary.
Maintain punctuality and regular attendance.
Assist patients on and off examination tables as indicated.
Perform other duties as assigned.
