About The Position

Perform ultrasound examinations as ordered by referring physicians and report preliminary findings to radiologists. This is a per diem position with varying shifts at the Mt Laurel Center. The role involves daily patient contact in an indoor office setting and may require travel to SJRA offices as necessary. The technologist assists patients on and off examination tables, maintains exam rooms and equipment, and follows confidentiality, HIPAA, corporate compliance, and infection-control practices.

Requirements

RDMS certification in Abdomen and/or OB/GYN.
Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
Proficient computer skills.
Knowledge of infection control practices.
Knowledge of pathology.
Knowledge of image interpretation.
Knowledge of high-level disinfectant procedures.

Nice To Haves

RVT certification preferred.
Two years of experience as an ultrasound technologist preferred.

Responsibilities

Review patient and referral information, including personal details, referring physician, and referral or script, for accuracy before examinations.
Explain examination procedures to patients and answer their questions.
Perform high-quality ultrasound studies as ordered by referring physicians.
Review images with radiologists when necessary.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and corporate compliance regulations.
Provide accurate written technical interpretation to radiologists.
Maintain exam rooms, including stocking supplies as needed.
Maintain the work area and complete equipment quality-control checklists.
Travel to SJRA offices as necessary.
Maintain punctuality and regular attendance.
Assist patients on and off examination tables.
Perform other duties as assigned.
