The Ultrasound Technologist is fully competent to perform all diagnostic procedures for the Diagnosis of specific diseases or conditions. This role involves assessing patients, reviewing orders and charts, preparing patients for procedures, and communicating with radiologists. The technologist is responsible for accurate documentation in the Radiology Information System (RIS), maintaining a safe environment, monitoring exam timeliness and quality, and performing QA of exams. Additionally, the role includes participating in the clinical education of student sonographers and department Performance Improvement Projects.
