About The Position

Peterson Health is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Technician in Kerrville, Texas. The technician works under the supervision of radiologists and the management team to acquire diagnostic images for interpretation and assists with invasive procedures as requested. The role requires one year of experience as an ultrasound technologist.

Requirements

One year of experience as an ultrasound technologist.
Associate degree in Radiologic Science and/or registration from ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI.
Registration through one of the following: ARRT, ARDMS, or CCI.
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer credential.
Adult Echo and Vascular certifications.
BLS CPR.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, decision-making, and patient-care skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, positioning, techniques, radiation protection, and safety.
Knowledge of ultrasound physics and medical terminology.
Ability to determine appropriate probe utilization and placement for optimal imaging.
Ability to adapt techniques when needed to develop improved techniques and keep the department up to date.
Skill in safe and efficient operation of imaging equipment.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science degree.
Multiple-modality registry in abdomen, OB, and breast.
Two years of experience as an ultrasound technologist.

Responsibilities

Acquire diagnostic images for interpretation under the supervision of radiologists and the management team.
Assist with invasive procedures as requested.
Position patients and adjust equipment to produce desired or optimum images of the required anatomy.
Examine images to evaluate techniques, positioning, and other related qualities.
Determine and follow appropriate protocols to produce optimum diagnostic images efficiently.
Operate imaging equipment safely and efficiently.
