About The Position

Works under general supervision to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures according to departmental protocol and physician orders. Assists radiologists and physicians as requested. Procedures include abdominal, retroperitoneal, OB/GYN, and peripheral vascular Doppler scans; scans of other anatomical areas as required; and interventional procedures such as cyst aspirations and biopsies. Maintains established organizational and departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, and safety policies.

Requirements

Complete understanding of axial anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound physics, normally acquired through completion of an approved Medical Radiologic Technology program with additional formal training in Ultrasonography.
One year of Ultrasonography experience is acceptable in lieu of formal training.

Nice To Haves

ARDMS registration or ARRT certification; Indiana State Diagnostic Radiation Operator certification is preferred.
Ultrasound certification is preferred.
Two years of hospital Staff Radiological Technologist experience is preferred to qualify for on-the-job training.
