About The Position
Peterson Health is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Technician in Kerrville, Texas. The technician works under the supervision of radiologists and the management team to acquire diagnostic images for interpretation and assists with invasive procedures as requested. Requirements
- One year of experience as an ultrasound technologist.
- Associate degree in Radiologic Science and/or registry from ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI.
- Registration with one of the following: ARRT, ARDMS, or CCI.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer.
- Adult Echo and Vascular certifications.
- BLS CPR.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal relationship, decision-making, and patient care skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, positioning, techniques, radiation protection, and safety.
- Knowledge of ultrasound physics and medical terminology.
- Ability to determine correct probe utilization and placement for optimal imaging.
- Ability to examine images to evaluate techniques, positions, and other related qualities.
- Ability to position patients and adjust equipment to produce the desired or optimum image of the desired anatomy.
- Skill in safe and efficient operation of imaging equipment.
- Ability to adapt standard techniques when necessary to develop new and improved techniques and keep the department up to date.
- Ability to determine proper protocols to obtain optimum diagnostic images efficiently.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science degree.
- Multiple modality registry in abdomen, OB, and breast.
- Two years of experience as an ultrasound technologist.
