About The Position

Montclair Breast Center is seeking an Ultrasound Technician, also known as a Sonographer, to use ultrasound equipment to help visualize internal anatomy and functions. The role involves preparing and conducting examinations, capturing images or videos of potential abnormalities, and discreetly notifying medical personnel of concerning findings. The position may be per diem, part-time, or full-time.

Requirements

• Current state license.
• Registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS).
• Specialized training, such as continuing education or certificates.
• Average of five continuing education credits (ECEs) per year specific to breast ultrasound.

Responsibilities

• Use sonographic equipment to identify and observe areas of concern.
• Prepare the exam room for examinations and assist radiologists with ultrasound procedures and ultrasound-guided biopsies.
• Notify appropriate medical staff of abnormalities requiring immediate attention.
• Maintain sonography equipment and report machinery failures.
• Conduct scan tests.
• Manage several patients and priorities and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
• Work under minimal supervision and cooperate with other team members.
• Perform quality assurance on equipment.
