About The Position

This is a 1-year contract position for an Ultrasound/Echo Technologist at the VA New Jersey Health Care System in Toms River, NJ. The role involves performing ultrasound exams, patient preparation, quality control of images, recording findings, and preparing digital images for radiologist review. The position is Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM EST, with approximately 20-22 shifts per month. Credentialing and onboarding take 6-8 weeks.

Requirements

• RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) from ARDMS
• RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) from ARDMS
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• 3+ years of experience on advanced modality (sonography)
• Abdomen and retroperitoneum, small parts, gynecology, male pelvis, obstetrics
• Vascular imaging: upper/lower extremity venous, carotid, ABI/segmental pressures, aorta, renal artery, lower extremity arterial (including stents/bypasses)
• Breast sonography and breast biopsies

Nice To Haves

• Philips EPIQ 7, Hologic, Siemens equipment experience

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound exams per protocol
• Patient prep/positioning/education
• QC of images
• Monitor patient for adverse reaction during exam
• Record findings and log data into patient information systems
• Document delayed/pending cases in CPRS with plan for completion
• Prepare digital images for radiologist review via PACS
• Participate in QI and staff meetings
