About The Position

This position is for an MRI Technologist at the VA New Jersey Health Care System in Toms River, NJ. The role involves performing MRI exams, ensuring patient and staff safety, administering contrast media, and maintaining image quality. The contract is for 1 year with potential for renewal.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience on advanced modality (MRI)
• ARRT (R)
• ARRT (MR)
• BLS

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of superconducting magnets and physics as applied to medical imaging
• MRI safety factors governing the magnetic environment for patients, visitors, equipment
• Cross-sectional anatomy as it relates to soft tissue/vessels
• Radio-frequency surface coils for specific anatomical regions
• Contrast media, power injectors, PACS
• May also perform basic MR safety program duties (scope not defined in PWS — confirm with CO)

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI exams per protocol; patient prep/screening/positioning/education
• Ensure MRI safety screening/protocols followed for all patients and staff
• Prepare and administer contrast agents; monitor patient during exam
• QC of images; troubleshoot/report equipment malfunctions
• Document delayed/pending cases in CPRS with completion plan
• Prepare digital images via PACS for radiologist
• Participate in QI and staff meetings
