About The Position

The DEXA (Bone Densitometry) Technologist will perform DEXA and general radiographic exams per protocol. This includes patient preparation, positioning, and education, as well as quality control of images and minimizing patient radiation exposure. The technologist will also monitor patients for adverse changes during exams, document delayed/pending cases in CPRS with a completion plan, prepare digital images via PACS for the radiologist, and participate in QI and staff meetings.

Requirements

• ARRT (R)
• BLS
• General RT experience
• Bone Densitometry (DEXA) exams of lumbar spine, hips, and forearms
• General radiography: X-ray, fluoroscopy assistance
• Preparing/administering contrast media and medications per state/federal regs
• Knowledge of digital radiography (CR/DR) and PACS
• Producing radiographic studies used for medical diagnosis (locating injuries, foreign bodies, pathology, lesions)

• DEXA-specific experience preferred
