About The Position

Performs diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing sonographic equipment to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological and anatomical data under the direction of the Medical Director. The technologist will be required to perform invasive and non invasive procedures, utilize sterile techniques when necessary, and operate complex imaging equipment under the direction of the Director and/or Manager. This role participates in weekend schedule coverage and on-call schedules where applicable, covering additional shifts based on department needs. The position involves following established scanning protocols, initiating life support measures, identifying and reporting equipment issues, performing and logging QA/QC for equipment, and contributing to staff orientation, onboarding, training, and development. Additionally, the role requires collecting and documenting patient history, maintaining patient confidentiality per HIPAA, and preparing for regulatory inspections.

Requirements

  • 2 years specialized training required
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Graduate of Ultrasound Certificate Program required
  • ARDMS Certified required at time of hire

Nice To Haves

  • One year clinical ultrasound experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge of department and notifies Bio-Med and other service engineers of equipment issues.
  • Reviews image quality and forwards timely to PACS.
  • Performs and logs QA/QC for equipment in use.
  • Staff orientation, onboarding, training and development.
  • Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory training.
  • Collects and documents appropriate patient history.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality through HIPPA requirements.
  • Preparation for the Joint Commission, ACR, Stericycle inspections and knowledge of regulatory requirements.
