About The Position

We are seeking a hands-on UKG Configuration Engineer to lead the build-out and configuration of the UKG Pro Workforce Management (WFM) platform. This role is focused on the modern UKG Pro WFM product — not legacy Kronos Workforce Central — and is ideal for someone who thrives in the actual system build: designing, configuring, testing, and deploying WFM functionality that supports timekeeping, scheduling, and workforce operations at scale. This is a configuration-first role. While reporting and analytics exposure is a plus, the core of the job is building and optimizing the UKG product itself.

Requirements

  • [3–5+] years of hands-on UKG Pro WFM (formerly UKG Dimensions) configuration experience
  • Deep expertise in WFM configuration: pay rules, work rules, accrual profiles, scheduling rules, attendance policies, and business structure setup
  • Experience taking WFM builds through full lifecycle implementations — requirements, design, configuration, testing, go-live, and post-production support
  • Working knowledge of UKG integration tooling (Boomi, Integration Hub, and/or UKG APIs)
  • Strong understanding of timekeeping, payroll, and workforce management business processes
  • Ability to work directly with functional stakeholders and translate business needs into system design
  • Strong documentation, testing discipline, and troubleshooting skills

Nice To Haves

  • UKG Pro WFM certification(s)
  • Experience migrating from Kronos Workforce Central to UKG Pro WFM
  • Exposure to UKG Pro (HCM/Payroll) configuration
  • Experience in [industry — e.g., healthcare, manufacturing, retail] environments with complex scheduling or union/CBA rules
  • Familiarity with Dataviews and basic UKG reporting (nice to have — this role is configuration-focused, not analytics-focused)

Responsibilities

  • Configure and build out UKG Pro WFM modules, including Timekeeping, Advanced Scheduling, Accruals, Absence/Attendance, and Leave
  • Translate business and functional requirements into system configuration: pay rules, work rules, pay codes, accrual policies, schedule rule sets, and business structure
  • Design and configure employee groups, labor categories, and organizational mapping to support operational and payroll needs
  • Build, test, and deploy configuration changes across environments, including unit testing, system integration testing, and UAT support
  • Support integrations between UKG Pro WFM and payroll/HCM systems (e.g., UKG Pro, Workday, SAP, ADP) via UKG integration tools (Boomi / Integration Hub / APIs)
  • Troubleshoot configuration issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective changes
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, Operations, and IT stakeholders to gather requirements and recommend best-practice configuration approaches
  • Support system upgrades, release testing, and new feature enablement as UKG rolls out product updates
  • Document configuration design, build decisions, and standard operating procedures
  • Provide knowledge transfer and support to internal admins and end users
