About The Position

We are seeking experienced Contract UI/UX Designers to support discovery and design for business‑critical web and mobile products. This is a contract, hourly, project‑based role. We are building a bench of design leaders who can be engaged as client opportunities arise. Work is not guaranteed on a continuous basis; engagements will vary in scope and duration depending on client needs. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside an experienced team that excels at building high‑quality products for clients at scale. You will report to a Project Lead and collaborate closely with a skilled Bellwood product development team across product, engineering, and QA. This role is ideal for independent consultants or fractional designers who enjoy stepping into new environments, partnering directly with clients, and delivering high‑quality design work from early discovery through development‑ready assets.

Requirements

• Strong experience working with business and technical teams to design business applications, websites, and design systems utilizing Figma.
• A voracious appetite to learn and apply new skills.
• Skilled at designing responsive web experiences and mobile apps.
• Excel with different sets of tools and in different client environments.
• 5+ years of professional application design experience
• Passionate about interaction design, visual design, and design thinking
• Thrives in ambiguity, working across multiple organizational stakeholders
• Has a collaborative mindset

• Experience as a consultant, contractor, or fractional designer
• Comfortable balancing strategic discovery with hands‑on execution
• Organized, proactive, and responsive in a remote environment

Responsibilities

• Design, iterate, scale, and enhance Software Products, Apps, and Platforms based on Client Needs, Business Requirements and development
• Communicate complex topics clearly, in language that can be easily understood by clients
• Define, refine, and document Best Practices that enable excellent team performance
• Creating design systems that can be applied to the whole project and align with customer branding
• Creating user flows and presenting those flows to the team and customers
• Meeting with clients to understand their needs and processes
• Communicating to developers and other team members your ideas clearly and collaborating with the whole development team
