About The Position

Undergraduate research assistants are students who, in the course of their academic training, are employed in part-time research positions, where the student's academic training is based in part on the research performed. Hours per Week 5-20 hours per week. Schedule will be set but might include early morning, evenings, or weekends. Up to 35 hours per week, maximum, during summer semesters.

Requirements

  • Classified as an undergraduate student at the University of Central Oklahoma.
  • Must have current CPR Certification or ability to obtain certification within 90 days.

  • Pursuing their B.S. in Exercise Fitness Management in the College of Education and Professional Studies.
  • Have sensitivity of intercultural communication.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience.
  • Ability to solve problems and provide solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with data collection, data management, and/or data analysis of human fitness measures.
  • Teach exercise classes, in accordance with evidence-based exercise guidelines.
  • Implements correct paperwork protocols for patrons and ensure paperwork is securely stored.
  • Assist with upkeep and organization of equipment and supplies used for the exercise classes and exercise testing.
  • Maintains close communication with VPKHS faculty.
  • Providing educational presentations in the field of health and wellness.
  • Represent professional staff when the staff is not on site.
