UAV Trainer

UFORCE

About The Position

UFORCE US is seeking a hands-on UAV Trainer to prepare customers, partners, and internal field teams to safely and confidently operate, maintain, launch, recover, and employ UFORCE unmanned aerial systems. The trainer delivers practical, repeatable instruction for exercises, demonstrations, and operational handoffs across classroom, simulator, tabletop, dry-run, and live-flight environments, using established programs of instruction, checklists, instructor standards, and safety gates. The role works with the training program owner and colleagues across field engineering, Delivery, Engineering, Sales, and safety. Its primary focus is delivering established training to a high standard, accurately assessing trainee readiness, and providing customer-ready qualification records. The trainer also captures field lessons and contributes to improvements in curricula, operating procedures, and the broader training program. The role requires travel for U.S. customer training, exercises, demonstrations, and operational handoffs.

Requirements

  • Hands-on UAV operating experience, including mission planning, launch and recovery, flight-line operations, payload employment, and emergency procedures.
  • Experience teaching mixed-experience audiences, preparing and delivering structured lessons, demonstrating practical skills, and adapting instruction without compromising established standards.
  • Ability to work with programs of instruction, lesson plans, instructor guides, qualification standards, and evaluation rubrics, and to document trainee performance clearly and consistently.
  • Disciplined flight-safety judgment, including aircraft readiness, crew roles, communications, risk assessment, and go/no-go decisions, with confidence to challenge unsafe or underprepared activity.
  • Working knowledge of coordination, approvals, safety plans, and operating constraints for responsible UAV training in U.S. exercise and field environments.
  • Operational familiarity with command-and-control and ground-control-station workflows, mission-planning tools, payloads and sensors, communications, batteries and power, spares, flight logs, and field-maintenance basics.
  • Ability to maintain accurate training and qualification records, use version-controlled materials, and turn after-action findings into clear recommendations for procedural and training changes.
  • Clear, direct customer-facing communication and ability to build trust with operators, engineers, military and government customers, and internal stakeholders; able to teach fundamentals while remaining credible with experienced operators.
  • High standards, low ego, and a calm, practical approach to ambiguity, changing conditions, and high-tempo field activity; takes responsibility for training quality and safety.
  • Willingness to travel for U.S. customer training, exercises, demonstrations, and operational handoffs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience delivering UAV training to U.S. military, government, or defense customers.
  • Background as a UAV instructor, evaluator, standardization specialist, maintainer, mission lead, or Forward Deployed Engineer.
  • Experience developing or improving programs of instruction, pilot-style checklists, instructor guides, and qualification frameworks.
  • Experience supporting customer exercises, demonstrations, or operational handoffs with complete readiness evidence and customer deliverables.
  • Experience using simulators, tabletop exercises, and rehearsals to prepare trainees for live-flight operations.
  • Experience translating Ukrainian, frontline, or partner-nation operating lessons into training suited to U.S. customers and operating requirements.
  • Experience connecting training feedback with Engineering and product teams to improve equipment, procedures, and customer readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Train operators, maintainers, mission leads, launch and recovery crews, safety observers, Forward Deployed Engineers, and customer teams using role-based programs of instruction and established instructor standards.
  • Teach the full operating cycle, including mission planning, aircraft and payload configuration, communications checks, pre-flight inspections, launch, flight operations, emergency procedures, recovery, post-flight inspection, and maintenance basics.
  • Use classroom instruction, simulator practice, tabletop exercises, and dry-run rehearsals to build readiness before live flight.
  • Apply current standardized materials and checklists covering aircraft readiness, batteries and power, payloads, communications, flight operations, emergency response, data handling, and maintenance turn-in.
  • Assess trainees against documented standards, provide coaching and clear feedback, and support qualification sign-off with accurate records and evidence.
  • Coordinate training event preparation, roles, mission briefs, risk assessments, range and airspace requirements, communications plans, flight windows, and readiness gates; stop or change unsafe or underprepared activities.
  • Maintain attendance, flight logs, evaluation forms, and qualification records, and prepare handoff packages documenting trainee capabilities and remaining gaps.
  • Lead or contribute to after-action reviews; capture lessons from flight data, maintenance findings, exercises, and trainee feedback; and recommend updates to instruction, checklists, safety gates, and instructor notes.
  • Coordinate with trainers, field engineers, Engineering, Delivery, Sales, and safety stakeholders to incorporate product changes and adapt Ukrainian and frontline operating knowledge into U.S.-ready training.
  • Capture and organize training artifacts supporting customer confidence, operational handoffs, contract execution, and internal reporting while respecting customer sensitivities and operational security.
