About The Position

The Radiologic Technologist Inpatient Two Skills performs multi-modality diagnostic imaging procedures to support patient care. This role utilizes advanced technical skills, clinical judgment, and specialized equipment to produce high-quality images for interpretation. The Two Skills Inpatient Radiologic Technologist Supports Carilion Clinic’s hallmarks of service excellence and quality in all job responsibilities. Performs imaging procedures across multiple modalities to support diagnostic and treatment needs. Operates specialized imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. Prepares, positions, and monitors patients to ensure safety and image quality. Administers contrast media and performs additional procedures as required. Applies knowledge of growth and development to provide age-appropriate care. Utilizes computer systems for scheduling, registration, image processing, and documentation. Maintains compliance with imaging policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Collaborates with physicians and healthcare team members to support patient care. Participates in training and orientation of students and staff. Maintains competency and certification requirements for assigned modalities. Supports a safe environment and adheres to radiation safety standards. Manages workflow in a fast-paced environment and adapts to changing priorities. Maintains confidentiality and complies with organizational standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology or other imaging specialty required.
  • None.
  • ARRT registry or registry eligible required.
  • Additional modality-specific certifications required based on assigned area.
  • AHA BLS-HCP required.
  • Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.
  • Strong interpersonal and technical skills.
  • Flexibility to perform multiple modalities and adapt to varying clinical needs.
