The high level: The Tutoring Coordinator (TC) is a position that is part of a dynamic partnership team working to ensure that our Newark geography is positioned for success during the summer. Their role is to work closely with the partnership leadership team to implement summer tutoring, program operations, and tutor support through the summer. Reporting directly to the managing director of partnerships & growth (MDPG), the TC supports duties that are critical to the operations in our Newark tutoring. This is an in-person role, and candidates must reside in the Greater Newark or Metropolitan New York City area with access to reliable to transportation. The start date for this position is June 8th, 2026, and it concludes on August 28th, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Summer Tutoring at one of Newark summer sites
  • Conduct beginning and end-of-summer assessments
  • Lead the daily tutoring sessions by taking attendance, scheduling students, managing daily operations, tutor coaching, and program quality
  • Provide in person coaching and support for tutors working directly with students using the Reading Partners Connects curriculum
  • Check-in regularly with a member of the national Reading Partners team
  • Community and Family Engagement
  • Facilitate tutor orientations as needed
  • Facilitate family engagement workshops as needed
  • Other Duties as as Needed
