About The Position

Hamilton County Schools seeks a Tutor to provide small-group and/or individual instruction in academic content areas, along with assistance as needed in areas such as graduation rate, behavior, and attendance. The position is based at East Ridge Elementary, a PreK–5 school in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The school emphasizes relationships, strong instruction, teamwork, data-informed learning, and creating a safe, supportive environment where students can succeed. Compensation is $20 per hour.

Requirements

Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the content area or areas to be addressed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to deal effectively with students and staff.

Responsibilities

Provide supplemental instruction and support to selected students.
Attend training in the appropriate model or models implemented in the school.
Keep accurate records of student work and academic support provided.
Provide classroom teachers and/or administrators with regular student progress reports.
Follow established procedures to ensure assigned areas are safe.
Work collaboratively with administrators, faculty, and staff.
Attend work and arrive on time.
Maintain confidentiality.
Adhere to the Teacher Code of Ethics as defined by Tennessee law.
Comply with accounting and financial policies and procedures involving the handling of money and property, as well as other Board policies.
Use computers and other technology to enter and access information related to essential job functions.
May operate a motor vehicle to conduct various work activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
