About The Position

Chevron Operations and Turnarounds is accepting online applications for the position of Turnaround Planner - Metals located at El Segundo, California. This role plans and participates in the execution of turnarounds, contributing to the development of long-range turnaround plans. The planner will coordinate efforts across disciplines to develop and manage turnaround worklists, compile and review execution plans and schedules, and develop mitigation/contingency plans for risks/exposures. This position also involves managing input of documents and data into the turnaround management application (IMPACT Web) and facilitating turnaround close-outs, look-backs, and benchmarking. The role supports larger customers/clients and may lead functional projects under infrequent supervision, while developing a detailed knowledge of the work function.

Requirements

  • Oil & Gas industry turnaround maintenance planning/execution experience
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience planning and coordinating turnaround maintenance activities.
  • Familiarity with IMPACT, Primavera P6, SAP, Maximo, or similar maintenance and planning systems.

Responsibilities

  • Champion incident-free operation.
  • Ensure all safe work practices are followed (LOTO, Confined Space Entry, Hot work, etc.).
  • Conduct routine audits.
  • Participate in tailgate and monthly safety meetings.
  • Investigate all incident reports and takes action to prevent recurrence.
  • Steward scope input/justification.
  • Develop and communicate FEL plans (i.e. Contracting, Communication, Permits and critical lifts, Facility Plans, etc.).
  • Adhere to the IMPACT process, including adherence to milestones, KPI ratability, scope creep.
  • Work with Capital Projects project managers to determine who will manage pre-TA and TA work.
  • Select and manage contractors to ensure tools, materials, labor resources and equipment are available for maintenance work.
  • Coordinate support from internal resources to facilitate turnaround work (Pass Control, Security, Shops, Operations, Technical, etc.).
  • Select and manage company resources to oversee turnaround work.
  • Establish clear work direction to mechanics to optimize work efforts.
  • Administer personnel policies consistently within established guidelines.
  • Effectively coach, train, and lead mechanics to achieve high performance standards.
  • Facilitate weekly and daily meetings to coordinate team activities.
  • Document all Lessons learned from all Phases of turnaround planning.
  • Adopt digital tools as rolled out for use and provide feedback to product owners.
  • Develop budgets and monitor costs to meet objective.
